Cho'tkasi bo'lmagan DC motorlar qurilishi va kommutatsiya usullariga qarab toifalarga bo'linishi mumkin:
Ushbu dizaynda rotor stator ichida joylashgan. Ichki rotorli motorlar yuqori moment bilan mashhur va odatda sanoat ilovalarida qo'llaniladi.
Bu erda rotor statordan tashqarida joylashgan bo'lib, natijada yuqori inertsiyaga ega ixcham dizayn paydo bo'ladi. Bular dronlar va kichik jihozlar kabi ilovalarda mashhur.
Datchiklar (masalan, Hall effektli sensorlar) bilan jihozlangan bu motorlar rotor holati haqida aniq fikr-mulohazalarni taqdim etib, aniq boshqaruvni ta'minlaydi.
Sensorsiz motorlar rotor o'rnini aniqlash uchun orqa EMF (elektromotor kuch) ga tayanadi. Ular arzonroq va fanatlar va nasoslar kabi qimmatga tushadigan ilovalarda qo'llaniladi.
Cho'tkasi bo'lmagan shahar motorining ishlashi stator sariqlarining magnit maydoni va rotorning doimiy magnitlari o'rtasidagi o'zaro ta'sirga asoslangan. Fırçalı motorlardan farqli o'laroq, cho'tkalar elektr energiyasini rotorga jismoniy ravishda uzatadi, BLDC motorlari aylanadigan magnit maydon hosil qilish uchun elektron boshqaruvchiga tayanadi.
Ushbu uzluksiz jarayon yuqori samaradorlikni va kam eskirishni ta'minlaydi, bu BLDC motorlarini talabchan ilovalar uchun ideal qiladi.
