Types of motors

Types of motors

1. According to the type of working power supply:

Can be divided into DC motors and AC motors.

1.1 DC motors can be divided according to their structure and working principle: brushless DC motors and brushed DC motors.

1.1.1 Brushed DC motors can be divided into: permanent magnet DC motors and electromagnetic DC motors. Classification of electromagnetic DC motors: series-excited DC motors, shunt-excited DC motors, separately-excited DC motors and compound-excited DC motors. Division of permanent magnet DC motors: rare earth permanent magnet DC motors, ferrite permanent magnet DC motors and AlNiCo permanent magnet DC motors.

1.1 Among them, AC motors can also be divided into: single-phase motors and three-phase motors.

2. Divided by structure and working principle:

Can be divided into DC motor, asynchronous motor, synchronous motor.

2.1 Synchronous motor can be divided into: permanent magnet synchronous motor, reluctance synchronous motor and hysteresis synchronous motor.

2.2 Asynchronous motors can be divided into: induction motors and AC commutator motors.

2.2.1 Induction motors can be divided into: three-phase asynchronous motors, single-phase asynchronous motors and shaded-pole asynchronous motors, etc.

2.2.2 The AC commutator motor can be divided into: single-phase series-excited motor, AC-DC dual-purpose motor and repulsion motor.

3. Divided by start-up and operation mode:

Capacitor starting single-phase asynchronous motor, capacitor running single-phase asynchronous motor, capacitor starting running single-phase asynchronous motor and split-phase single-phase asynchronous motor.

4. By use:

  Drive motors and control motors.

4.1 Division of electric motors for driving: electric motors for electric tools (including tools for drilling, polishing, polishing, grooving, cutting, reaming, etc.), home appliances (including washing machines, electric fans, refrigerators, air conditioners, tape recorders, video recorders, video discs) Electric motors for machines, vacuum cleaners, cameras, hair dryers, electric shavers, etc.) and other general small mechanical equipment (including various small machine tools, small machinery, medical equipment, electronic instruments, etc.).

4.2 The control motor is divided into: stepping motor and servo motor, etc.

5. According to the structure of the rotor:

Squirrel induction motors (the old standard called squirrel-cage asynchronous motors) and wound rotor induction motors (old standard called wound asynchronous motors).

6. By operating speed:

  High-speed motor, low-speed motor, constant-speed motor, speed-regulated motor.
